Arthur Waley

Arthur David Waley est né le 19 août 1889]] et il est mort le 27 juin de l'an 1966. Il a été un orientalista et sinologista anglais.

Biographie
est Né en Tunbridge Wells, Kent, l'Angleterre, avec le nom d'Arthur David Schloss. Il était fils d'un économiste, appelé David Frederick Schloss. Dans l'an 1914 a changé son nom par le de sa grand-mère paternelle, Waley.
S'educó en Rugby School et après, dans l'an 1907, a encaissé en le King's College de la Université de Cambridge, où a étudié classiques. La veuve du niponólogo catalanoestadounidense Ernest Francisco Fenollosa lui a offert les manuscrits de son mari avec des traductions de poésie chinoise et théâtre ne japonais qu'a corrigé et il a publié en forme anglaise avec aide du poète Ezra Pound avec grand succès; à travers Pound, qu'était secrétaire de W. B. Yeats, Ce théâtre a influencé le de le grand poète irlandais.
En 1918 il a connu à Beryl de Zoete, une critique de danse et écrivaine. Ils ont habité ensemble jusqu'à la mort d'elle dans l'an 1962. Dans l'an 1966 s'a marié avec Alison Robinson, à celle que a connu en 1929. Ils ont habité en Highgate, Londres. Là Waley a habité dans le quartier de Bloosmbury, à dont Cercle de Bloomsbury a appartenu.
