Donald McNicol Sutherland (n. 17 juillet de 1935) est un acteur de cinéma canadien. Il est surtout connu par ses papiers en des films de terreur et bélicas des ans 1960 et 70. Il est le père de Kiefer Sutherland.

Biographie

est Né en Saint John, Nouveau-Brunswick. Il a suivi des études de ingénierie et art dramatique dans la Université de Toronto, et postérieurement en 1958 s'a déplacé à Londres pour continuer ses études dans l'Académie de Musique et Art Dramatique de Londres "LAMDA".

Il a débuté comme acteur à des principes des ans 1960 en des petits papiers en films et télévision, pour plus tard réussir quelques papiers remarquables dans quelques films de terreur avec Christopher il Lit comme Castle of the Living Dead et Dr. Terreur's House of Horrors. il plus avance il réussirait ses premiers succès avec Douze du patíbulo, M.À.S.H. Et Les violents de Kelly, qu'il jetterait sa course jusqu'à nos jours.

Il a été marié trois fois. Entre 1959 et 1966 avec Lois Hardwick; il plus avance avec Shirley Douglas depuis 1967 jusqu'à 1970 avec qui a eu deux fils, Rachel et Kiefer Sutherland (acteur et directeur, connu surtout par son récent papier dans la série de télévision 24). il actuellement est marié avec l'actrice Francine Racette, avec qui a eu trois fils.

Il a été nommé officiel du Mandat du Canada en 1978
