Japan Airlines Corporation (株式会社日本航空, Kabushiki-gaisha Nihon Kōkū), Ou JAL.

Deux compagnies opèrent sous la marque JAL: Japan Airlines International (日本航空インターナショナル, Nihon Kōkū Intānashonaru) et Japan Airlines Domestic (日本航空ジャパン, Nihon Kōkū Japan). Japan Airlines Domestic Se charge du plus grand réseau de vols dont l'origine et destination est le Japon alors que Japan Airlines International se charge autant de vols internationaux comme de vols intérieurs. Les deux compagnies s'ont fusionnés dans une seule marque le 1 octobre 2006. En plus, JAL Corporation aussi possède sept lignes aériennes plus petites:

Il possède une flotte de 290 avions et seulement dans l'an 2005 il a déplacé à plus de 60 millions de passagers, en volant à 125 destinations en 34 pays. Il a la flotte la plus grande du monde de Boeing 747 (environ 76 en 2005). Il est une des trois uniques lignes aériennes asiatiques que volent à l'Amérique Latine (Malaysia Airlines a route à Buenos Aires, JAL a route à Ville du Mexique, Sãou Paulo et Korean Air a route à Sãou Paulo).

Il appartient à l'alliance Oneworld, union auquel a encaissé en avril de 2007. L'il apporte de JAL à l'alliance est significatif parce qu'agrège 69 nouvelles routes qu'ils comprennent le Japon et la Chine.
