John Goodman (n. 20 juin de 1952) est un acteur américain, gagnant du Globe d'Or et nominé au Emmy, peut-être plus connu par son papier dans la série Roseanne, et ses papiers en des films comme Barton Fink ou Le grand Lebowski des frères Coen.

Biographie

Débuts

John Goodman est né en Affton, Missouri, fils de Virginia, vendeuse et mesera, et Leslie Goodman, employé du courrier (mort en 1954 d'une attaque cardiaque). Il a une soeur, Elisabeth, et un frère, Leslie. En la secondaire Goodman a concouru à "Affton High School", et il a gagné une bourse pour "Southwest Missouri State University". Pendant sa période dans l'université, a décidé se consacrer à l'action, en laissant Missouri pour arriver à New York en 1975. Il est apparu à Broadway, en des théâtres et en commerciaux pour la télévision, avant d'avoir papiers en des films à des principes de 1980. Un de ses premiers rôles a été "Pap Finn" en Big River, un musical de Broadway.

Course

Goodman est mayormente connu par son papier de "Dan Conner" dans la série de comédie Roseanne, laquelle a été à l'air en ABC depuis 1988 à 1997. Il a une longue histoire de participations en des shows et des comédies nocturnes, en étant Late Night with Conan Ou'Brien une des premières. il aussi est populaire par ses apparitions comme amphitryon en Saturday Night Live, programme à celui que a été invité en douze occasions.

Il est, je joins à John Turturro et Steve Buscemi, un des acteurs predilectos des directeurs Joel et Ethan Coen, qu'ont raconté avec il pour beaucoup de de ses films comme Raising Arizona, Barton Fink, Le grand Lebowski et Ou Brother!.
