Stephen Arthur Stills (né 3 janvier de 1945) est un guitariste américain et un chanteur/compositeur meilleur connu par son travail avec Buffalo Springfield et Crosby, Stills & Nash (and Young). En 2003, la revue Rolling Stone il l'a placé dans le post 28 en sa prête "Rolling Stone des 100 meilleurs guitaristes de tous les temps".

Stephen Stills est né en Dallas, Texas le 3 janvier 1945]] dans une famille de militaires. Depuis petit s'a intéressé par la musique blues et le folk.Il S'a aussi vu influenciado par musique latine après passer sa jeunesse en Gainesville, Tampa (Floride), le Costa Rica et le Panama, dans où se graduó.

Stills A abandonné la Université de Floride pour pourchasser une course musicale à des principes de 1960. Il a participé à diverse bandes qu'ils n'ont pas eu majeure répercussion comme The Continentals, dans où se trouvait le futur guitariste de The Eagles, Monsieur Felder. il aussi touchait en Gerde's Folk City, un connu café en Greenwich Village.

En 1997, Stills s'a converti dans la première personne en être comprise dans le Rock and Roll Hall of Fame deux fois dans la même nuit par son travail avec Crosby, Stills & Nash (and Young) et avec Buffalo Springfield.
